Anatxu Zabalbeascoa was born in Barcelona
in 1966. She studied Journalism at Barcelona’s Autónoma University and Art History at the The
School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has written several volumes about art
and architecture, as well as a novel and a book of short stories. She has been
the curator of exhibitions such as Máscara
y Espejo (Mask and Mirror -
MACBA, 1997), and Minimalismos. Un signo de los tiempos (Minimalism:
A Sign of the Times – Reina Sofía Museum, 2001). She has been a member of the jury for the Ciudad de Barcelona Prize, the Salon
of Interior Design, and the Spanish
National Prize for Photography. She writes in El País Semanal (EPS) as well as in the newspaper’s cultural
supplement, Babelia, about
architecture, design, and art.
