BIOGRAPHY

Manuel Castells (Hellín, Albacete, 1942) is one of the best known Spanish academics within the international panorama. He is a Doctor of Sociology and Human Sciences from the University of Sorbona, and has been a Sociology professor at Berkeley University, as well as a visiting professor

at another 15 universities. Outstanding among his works is the trilogy about the information era: economy, society and culture. He currently directs the Institute for Internet Investigations at the University Oberta of Catalunya.
