Following the storm, a ship arrives in Calicita the same day of Josué’s death.  He had been “The Delegate”, the old man who was the leader of the place.  Upon their arrival, the crew is held for interrogation.  Before being allowed to sail again, the Captain – Telegón Cedeño – will live his own particular odyssey, as he will be responsible for clearing up Josué’s death before Independence Day… and there are only seventy-two hours left to go.  The only people who seem to know the circumstances of the leader’s death, and who could perhaps help out the Captain, only try to mix him up for some dark reason.  During his investigation, Telegón will not only be witness to the terribly unjust situation that the abandoned people of Calicito live, but he will also come face to face with an episode from his own past that, without knowing it, ties him to this island, to its victims and its tormentors.
