Marathon runners who can hardly run a kilometer, writers whose work lacks a beginning, bull-fighters who do not enter the fight to kill, competing pilots paralyzed at the beginning of the race…  Fermín Maroto, retired but not lazy, searches for characters who have failed at the very beginning of things and who, as a result, have ended up digging their own graves.  The turnout is a palette that is both rich and varied.  Fermín and his companion from the residence for the elderly, who has become a chronicler and a squire, invite us along on a trip peopled by losers with a cause that make up a hilarious inventory of beginnings without happy endings.  They will discover that one cannot escape from his own theories, and that they too are searching in their own pasts to justify their personal pathology.
