Federico was twenty years old when he was killed by a seventeen year old kid. The tragedy was set off by a teen-ager who posed as a femme fatale. Junior was at high school when he made up his mind to shoot over his fellow classmates. Andy writes in her personal diary how she has killed a tedious guy at a party, and gets subsequently caught because of her writings. A merry-go-round is the mute witness to a tragic story of love and incest. A sixteen year old serial rapist ends his days shot down by a policeman in his twenties. A newly-made millionaire boy can’t even guess the bloody trap his friends have prepared for him.

Sangre Joven brings together the stories of young people who may either be the aggressors or the victims. With a thrilling prose, Javier Sinay does not judge the main characters but tries to understand them in all their dimensions: the unrequited affections, the pressure from family or Society, and the confusion and bewilderment at a reality that has become unbearable.

Praise for his work:

“Reading his books is an absolute must. His are novels of Argentine voices that reinvent the Literature of his country, as rich as it already is.” Paco Taibo II

Sinay’s work is simple and valuable: he reconstructs to the utmost daily events, paints the most common corners, and does so within the ordinariness of the stories and the characters, thus avoiding the extraordinary tale.”  Página 12
